Thank you for placing an order with American Printer Service, Inc.! We hope you're satisfied with your puchase and we look forward to having you join the ranks of loyal American Printer Service, Inc. customers! Here are a few tips to help keep your high-quality new compatible cartridges ready for action and in peak condition. TONER CARTRIDGE STORAGE AND CARE • Store your new cartridges at room temperature in a dry atmosphere away from sunlight. Cartridges contain photo-sensitive components which may be damaged by direct or excessive sunlight. • Store your cartridges in their original air-tight packaging. Do not store opened toner cartridges for long periods of time without proper packaging. Insects or other debris may fall into the internal components. • Do not attempt to open the cartridge. Most cartridge manufacturers and resellers will not replace cartridges which have been tampered with. • Do not attempt to modify or force the cartridge in or out of the printer. The correct cartridge will work with the correct printer right out of the box. • Do not leave toner cartridges in your car or where excessive heat may damage the casing or actual toner. • Never let any liquid spill on or around the toner cartridge. Liquid will effectively ruin your cartridge. • Do not shake the toner cartridge for that 'last little bit' of toner. Vigorously shaking the cartridge will force loose toner into cartridge components not ment to be exposed to toner. This could damage the cartridge and even damage your printer. • Grinding noises are not good. If your printer starts making grinding noises, remove the cartridge, reinsert, and try printing. If the grinding noise persists, cease printing and call a professional printer repair place to determine if the grinding is due to the cartridge itself or another of the printer's components. • Do not attempt to remove paper jams from the cartridge without proper knowledge. Forcefully pulling on jammed paper may damage the cartridge and the printer. • Never attempt to remove debris by using a screwdriver or any other sharp object inside the toner cartridge. Scratching the Image Drum will ruin the cartridge. • If you happen to spill some toner, clean it up by using a vacuum. Do not use water. Toner is a very finely ground mixture of plastics and coloring agents - it is dry. Try not to grind it into the surface of objects (especially porous). If this occurs, you should call a professional to have it cleaned. INKJET CARTRIDGE STORAGE AND CARE • Avoid touching the non-plastic part (printhead) of the cartridge. This is what interfaces with your machine and can be damaged if scratched resulting in improper print and possibly ruining the cartridge itself. • Inkjet cartridges should be stored at room temperature in their original air-tight packaging until used. • If for some reason you must store an opened inket cartridge, place a clean piece of plastic over the printhead to help avoid air from reaching the nozzles (where the ink comes out). • If, after storage, the printhead has caked on ink around the nozzles, carefully use a wet Q-tip (water or alcohol) to remove the dried ink. Let the cartridge dry. Then insert it into your printer and run the Nozzle Cleaning program from your printer's manufacturer. • Never forcefully insert or remove an inject cartridge into or from a printer. Most printers have diagrams inside the printer door detailing how to correctly install or remove the cartridge.
