Q: What are your rates?
A:     Please give us a call if you would like to place a Service Request and discuss rates!

Q: What will it cost to have someone diagnose a printer problem?
A:     Our standard in-house Bench Fee is $60.00. Our standard onsite Bench Fee is $80.00 in the Portland or Seattle Metro Area. This includes an initial diagnoses, any relatively quick fixes that can be resolved without the use of additional parts, and a quote for total resolution. If you would like to pursue repairs with APS, Inc. following our quote, the Bench Fee is absorbed into the first hour of labor (charged at our Standard Service Rate). We require up front payment for In-House Bench Fees via major credit card, cash, or personal check.

Q: How long will it take you to repair my printer?
A:     There really is no set answer to this question as each printer presents unique paths to resolution. However, we are typically able to return your printer to you within 1-business day from the time we have any parts needed to resolve the problem.

Q: Do you stock parts? If you have to order a part, how long does it take?
A:     We stock a large variety of commonly used Lexmark and Hewlett Packard parts. We are unfortunately unable to stock parts for every make and model of printer currently on the market. However, we have longstanding, good relationships with a variety of vendors and most parts we order will reach us within 24 hours.

Q: Are your Technicians trained?
A:     All Service Technicians employeed by APS, Inc. are professionals in printer repair. They have been Factory Certified by HP, Lexmark, Okidata, AMT, and C.Itoh. In addition, they are fully versed in a variety of other makes and models of printers. American Printer Service, Inc. is also an Authorized Service Provider for Xerox printers.

Q: I'd like a quote for having my printers covered under a Maintenance Agreement? Can you help?
A:     Absolutely. We have a variety of customers who choose to have their printer equipment covered under a Maintenance Agreement, saving hundreds of dollars in parts and labor each month. We would be happy to provide you with a quote. Just send us an email or give us a call with your location and printer information.

Q: Do you sell new and/or refurbished printers?
A:     Yes. We are able to provide your company with new delivered and installed units to fit all your printing requirments, from high quality plotters to personal laser printers. Just let us know a little bit about your intended usage and preferred make and we'll offer you a few suggestions. Refurbished units are available for some models depending on availability.

Q: Do you sell consumables?
A:     Yes. We stock a wide variety of New Compatible Toner Cartridges for most Lexmark and Hewlett Packard printers. You can see our complete list by using the navigation links in the red field to the right. If you can't find your cartridge on our list, please send us an email or give us a call and we'll track it down for you and get you a quote!

Q: Do you recycle old printers and toner cartridges?
A:     Yes. We will responsibly recycle your old printer for you if you deliver it onsite and post Bench Fee decide you would rather not have it repaired. We charge a small fee for onsite recycling. We offer FREE recycling of all spent toner cartridges ordered through APS, Inc. Cartridges are NOT re-used for future cartridges. We donate spent toner cartridges to a local recycling company who disassembles the cartridges and uses the metal and plastics in a variety of ways.

Q: What is your Service Area?
A:      American Printer Service, Inc. currently has offices in the Seattle, Washington area and Portland, Oregon area. We dispatch Technicians from either location depending on our customer's location. We operate primarily within the I-5 Corridor of Washington and Oregon. However, our Service is so good that we have customers as far north as Bellingham, WA and as far south as Roseburg, OR that call us on a regular basis to service their printers!

Q: Can I ship you a printer to repair?
A:     Yes. This is known as "Depot Service" and is a good option if you live in a remote location. Click HERE for complete details about our Depot Service. Just ship us your printer with a short note regarding the symptoms and we'll fix'er on up! All Depot Service requests should be shipped to American Printer Service, Inc., Attn: Depot Service, 10110 SW Nimbus Ave, Suite B8, Portland, OR, 97223. Once repairs are complete we will return the printer to you.
